Biography
In his New Pop style his art is an explosion of primary energy coming from the Light (white backgrounds) and Chaos (black backgrounds) with dripping and colors, enhanced with what he calls “gribouillisme”: a very rapid gesture resembling a massive signature.
Patrice Murciano started painting his first muses using his mother’s make-up sets. World-famous self-taught artist, Murciano’s studio, which he calls laboratory of artistic experiences, sums up well the artist’s creativity process and his paintings reveal his liberty through their explosive & vibrant colours. As a result Patrice Murciano’s works are a tribute to the various artistic movements which follow him during his evolution, all embedded today in his unique neo-pop artistic flow.
Patrice Murciano is a “Moon catcher”. Secretly dreaming since his childhood to be an astronaut, Patrice Murciano has long nourished the idea of painting on the Moon a work visible from the Earth, a work whose message of love would have been addressed, de facto, to all human beings. Finally he said to himself that if he could not go to the Moon, the Moon would go to him, like an arrival point… Only the original paintings by Patrice Murciano can be purchased at the gallery.
