Duytter

Daniel Uytteraeghe, aka Duytter, is a contemporary French artist born in 1963. Duyyter has been drawing since his earliest childhood. Fascinated by the lights and contrasts the artist endeavours to capture all the light in all its nuances, from the sunset in city centers to the one coming after a storm in the countryside. The artists looks up to Caravaggio and Rembrandt for their use of the contrasts and light effects but Hopper is the one he draws inspiration from to paint his cityscapes. He tends to convey the same quietness that emerges from the American painter works.

Duytter considers his paintings like photographs, making them pictural testimonials of our time.
